My interest in the visual arts must have started when I was about 7; I was always drawing at every opportunity. As a boy, by chance, I acquired a copy of the "Studio" a magazine which must have been the fore runner of "The Artist" and I was totally inspired by the work shown by artists like John Singer Sargent and Augustus John.

I paint mainly in watercolour, oils and recently in acrylics. My interests are landscape, painted "on the spot", and studio work on portraiture, still life, life from the model, and abstraction, all using the three mediums. At the moment I am very keen to explore abstraction, using acrylics.

I find that Dorset offers all I want for my landscape painting, ranging from the golden sands of Sandbanks to the white cliffs of the Purbecks, the county is also blessed with natural heathland, rolling meadows and woodland.

I have had work hung at the RWA, RSMA,RWS and for an unbroken period of 20 years at the RI, where they have one of my watercolours in their permanent collection.

My work has been bought by Poole Maritime Museum, Royal Ordnance Survey, Dorset County Council, British Petroleum, Russell Cotes Loan Collection, and Longleat House.

I hope that you enjoy wandering through my website.
